Current Tap

  • Note multiple components, fittings, valve and Tee piece.
  • Note no bleed/vent for proof of isolation. Very dangerous.
  • High purge water flow rate.
  • Low temperature purge and high flow rate diluting process.
  • Partial plugged tapping point creates error in PV measurement. Note Organe condition on scale.
  • Blocked tapping point = zero PV measurement. Note Red condition on scale.
  • Before drilling out tap, isolation valve is closed. Where is pressure behind isolation valve relieved and proof of isolation valve sealing confirmed?
  • Plug removed under pressure releases small toxic process material.
  • Manual drill tool attached. Isolation valve is open. How secure is manual drilling tool gland?
  • Tapping point is drilled. Prior to withdrawal of rod tool, isolation valve is closed, pressure vented when drilling tool is removed, plug reinstalled and isolation valve open.
  • Condition returned to normal. UNTIL NEXT TIME....
